The Cabooze was remodeled a few months ago, but I hadn't seen it until Tuesday, when I saw the John Popper Project Featuring DJ Logic perform there. I gotta say, that venue has improved by leaps and bounds.
The main bar has been shortened to allow for more dancing room in front of the stage, and there are drink rests attached to columns near the back of this dance area. They've opened up the back of the venue so that above the former pool table area (which still has a pool table), there's a loft area with another pool table and some funky new couches. There's also an actual built-in merch booth (what a concept!).
They’ve opened the place up so much that its capacity must have gone up at least a couple hundred, I would guess. But the best part is that even if there are more people to squeeze by on the way to the bar or the restroom, no matter where you are in the new Cabooze, you can actually see the stage.
Of course, when it rains, it pours. After not being to the Cabooze in months, I'm going to be there twice in one week. Tonight, legendary blues guitarist Johnny Winter performs with local rockers X-Ray Hip.

Thanks for the update. I have not been to the Cabooze for so long that I wondered if it still existed.
I read your blog so my clients think I am up to date on what's going on in Minneapolis. I took the liberty of linking to your post from my blog at http://www.realestatetwincities.net/minneapolis-minnesota-real-estate-agent-blogs/. I hope that was OK.
