Vera Wang's Dark Spring
I think that Vera Wang is so over bridal—as in white or cream—that her signature label featured deep, rich colors, like forest green, rust, black and a few pops of blue. There was still some big ornamentation in the form of large gemstones, but definitely toned down from fall. Lots of full-length and playing with volume. Modesty is definitely in.
According to a statement, she's exploring the "vibrancy and seduction of ancient Rome with all of its physical beauty, its poly-cultural society, and its long-lasting influence on civilization."
Sure enough, her spring 2008 looks were statuesque.
